EDGUY Singer Checks In From The Road
October 6, 2004EDGUY singer Tobias Sammet has posted the following message on the band's web site:
"The tour is going absolutely great so far, a lot of fun, a lot of non-sense, bad jokes all the time and the greatest fans in the world! It is really hard to mention anything specific as the real top-experience so far. Sure, Los Angeles and New York have been quite big surprises as we hadn't had great expectations before hand. Well, I guess those four North American shows have been a good step anyway, there is talk about some more shows, but of course we don't know anything official yet, let's wait and cross fingers. We would be very pleased to get the chance and play the US and Canada again a.s.a.p., plenty of reasons. Great fans, loud fans, the Hooters bar in Hollywood!
"I should mention that it was a pleasure to meet some old friends in Atlanta at the world famous ProgPower festival, organized by the world-famous Glenn Harveston. Timo Kotipelto and Rob Rock hopped on stage with us to do some guest appearances. Great time, thank you guys!
"Then Argentina was great too, we'd never been there before and the people were quite loud. What I didn't like was the flight from Buenos Aires to Cordoba, the plane was looking like a second world war model, actually as far as I can judge it was looking like being in shape of a second world war model. It said Boing 737, but of course you can always put a yellow sticker with a black horse on a red trash can! I don't know! However, we survived and I have a total new view of life now. I see every morning as something special, a gift from heaven, a raison díêtre for the alarm clock.
"Anyway, maybe I got a kind of top experience. Sao Paulo. It was such a great experience. We did some live shooting there and it was an unbelievable feeling to play for such a bunch of great and crazy and loyal and dedicated fans. It was more than 9,000 crazy Metal heads in the house and every single one of you guys totally freaking out! What a night. It will remain a memorable night for us too, for many reasons. One was the flying stunt, you can't imagine how it squeezed my balls hanging there for minutes over ten meters up in the air! Ouch! When I hit the ground I had one more octave in addition to my standard seven! ;) Another great gimmick was André from SHAMAN hitting the stage with us to do a song with us. However, it was a great night and in general, this leg of the tour is one more blast."
